In the United States, it is against the law for public schools to teach religion in this manner, so parochial schools are private. If your family has no religious affiliation, your child can still attend a parochial school.

Oftentimes, private schools with a religious foundation offer an excellent education, because funding is often funneled into academic programs, and parents are often very involved in the school. Additionally, many parochial schools do not have a tenure program so your child is ensured the best quality instructors.

If your child does not adhere to the doctrine presented by the parochial school you are considering, but is interested in the curriculum, it could be a good fit. Parochial schools are secure, private, and place a great emphasis on quality education.

When you look into the parochial school option, ask about tuition and course work. Have your child review the material, or, if he is young, ask him if the types of subjects he will be studying interest him.
